Lucien Ye is a composer for film, animation, and video games with an interest in experimental electronic music. He has scored a number of animations and games, covering a wide range of genres. The technology intensive aspect of video game scoring led him to developing an interest in electronic music, combining musique concrete materials and audio processing to produce programmatic music. He worked on over 30 student films during his bachelors degree, from composition to sound design to even voice acting — six of which were featured in the CalArts Character Animation Producers’ Show. Lucien is also a classically trained pianist and has been playing since the age of 11. He currently produces music under the EDM duo TACHISME. He studied under composers such as Karen Tanaka, Motoharu Kawashima, Ulrich Krieger, Barry Schrader, Anne LeBaron, and Fahad Siadat. Besides music, he also has a fascination with baking sweets, dogs, photography, and is the proud owner of two parakeets. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Composition from the California Institute of the Arts and a Master of Arts in English Language Teaching from the University of Sussex.
